- Eight
states currently do not have felony animal cruelty
provisions:
Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii, Idaho, Mississippi, North Dakota,
South Dakota and Utah (map,
courtesy of the Humane Society of the U.S.). Some
states have no more than a 'slap on the wrist' when
someone's finally brought to justice for animal cruelty (state
animal cruelty laws).
Get involved by bringing this matter to the attention of
your state's legal representatives and demand ALL 50 states
have adequate protection against animal cruelty!
